OK... This is still a work in progress.
This is my chosen layout and all I need to do now is get it to fit the page and have all my entries and pictures central.
Once this is done, I can then choose the best colour for the fonts, etc and start writing again.

I am not sure. It looks like the previous format doesn't agree with the format you picked. I will have Shon take a look. He is much better at this then me. I'll let you know what I find out! :)

I think I know what you are doing wrong. I am so not computer savvy but with the help of another gal and the Cutest Blog Website I was able to figure it out.
Before you paste your new layout code you have to do the following: go to the layout page and click on the tab called "Pick New Template." Once the choices pop up choose what should be the first one - it is called Minima. There are four choices on the Minima. Choose the first one that simply says Minima (in other words no colors). You must always have your template on this type when you upload any of the Cutest Blog choices.
I am not sure where I got this info but I think it where I searched and searched for days about doing it. It could be that I somehow found it on the Cutest Blog site when I was trouble shooting. I was about to go crazy and then that piece of info came before me. I do believe this is all you need to do since you have already pasted the new code into layout. Sorry but I've never used the templates from 'The Cutest Blog on the Block' before so I don't really know anything about them.
I hope you can get it worked out, the template you've chosen is *lovely*. (o:
