Third Sunday in Advent

John 1 v 9
the true Light which gives light to every man was coming into the world

This Sunday was the 3rd Sunday in Advent and we light the third candle which is pink! This is the candle of JOY.
So now our three candles show us that we have what is found in our Lord Jesus

HOPE - LOVE - JOY

I remember the joy I felt on the day I was baptised. It was a full immersion baptism and I felt so free and experienced a joy and happiness that I'd never had before. I wanted to hug everyone and laugh I was so full of joy.
A true Joy that Jesus gives.

Joy is such a gift, and is so hard to define. We look for happiness (persuing it is even considered a human right in the US constitution, if I'm right) but joy is the real thing. Thanks for this, Carol.

Thank you for sharing the meaning of the advent candles. I have been stopping by to see how you are getting along. My son has a friend at his school that is from Germany. He is an exchange student. He is so sweet and talks about how different living is over seas. I would really like to see England one day. Who knows maybe the Lord will allow that one day before I leave this earth?
Sorry that this comment is so long. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. Have a blessed Christmas!!!

Carol,
What joy we have in our Saviour, Jesus! His joy is eternal where as the joy on this earth is temporal.
Hope the Lord richly blesses you my sweet & dear friend :)

Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
Miriam

Lovely joyful post! I loved your description of your baptism. I too felt uplifted and joyful when I was baptised, I shall never forget it. :)
