I have a calendar in our dining room and todays reading on it said..

Only one life
It will soon pass
Only what's done
For Christ will last
It reminds me of the scripture in Matthew 6 v 19-21 where Jesus says..
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moth and
rust destroy and where thieves break in and steel,
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth
nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
So my question is - where is my treasure? Where is your treasure? Is it in earthly possessions?
There is nothing wrong with having earthly possessions as long as they don't consume you. The Lord wants us to have nice things. But He wants to come first in our lives.
This week I have been thinking alot of Jesus. When I die and leave this earth I will be spending eternity with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Eternity is a L O N G time, and when sharing it with Someone so special I want to know that person. How well do I know Jesus? What do I really know about Him? Do I take enough time to TRULY get to know Him? I read the scriptures that tell me how to live, but do I KNOW the Jesus of the scriptures in the Holy Bible?
I want to build up treasures in Heaven, but I also want to build, nurture and maintain my relationship with the King of Kings.
How about you?

Carol, these questions I have asked myself. Am I so close to my Shepherd and King that I can feel the warmth of His presence or hear His heartbeat?
We must press on and draw closer!
Hugs,
Miriam :)

Miriam, Joyce Meyer says "keep on, keeping on!"
And you're right, we must press on, draw closer and keep on keeping on.

Have a blessed weekend.
Love & hugs

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I look forward to reading from yours as well. Our puppy will turn one on Monday, so we have another year or two until she has puppies. My husband wasn't so sure he'd want to become Westie breeders when we got our four year old, so she's fixed. :)

Carol,
I have missed visiting with you. You are wise to study and learn much about our Savior . . . we will spend a L O N G time with HIM in Heaven.
Love,
Bren
