John 15 v 5
"I am the Vine and you are the branches.
He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing".

One of the ways I believe we can continue to abide in Jesus is to treasure His written word. The Bible gives us this fabulous opportunity to know our God, to love Jesus and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I have heard the following somewhere before, but I read it this morning in a book by Smith Wigglesworth and would like to share it with you.

God's Word is:

Supernatural in origin

Eternal in duration

Inexpressible in valor

Infinite in scope

Regenerative in power

Infalliable in authority

Universal in application

Inspired in totality.

We should:

Read it through

Write it down

Pray it in

Work it out

Pass it on.

The word of can God change a person; it can transform the mind.

It is important for me to know God's word - to 'hide it in my heart' - to diligently study the scriptures and to listen to what God has to say to me through His word.

Now, I'm no expert on God's word but I am continually learning. And that's the great thing. The more I read my bible, the more I learn. Sometimes I can read a chapter and it doesn't really say much to me, but the following week I can read the same chapter again and POW! revelation arrives from my God.

Also, as it says in James 1 v 21-25, I am to be 'doers of the word'. As I receive with meekness the word, faith will spring up within. I will have life through the Word/word and my knowledge will become faith in action. Faith is active and never dormant. Faith is the hand of God; the power of God and lives amid the greatest conflict.

Praise God for His written word.
