for they shall inherit the earth
Many times people confuse the word 'meek' with weak; shy; reserved; wishy-washy or someone who lets everyone run all over them. However, that's not at all what it means to be meek.
Meekness is strength under control. Do not be fooled when thinking of someone who is meek. A meek person doesn't have to respond to every critic and they don't fall for every distraction.
A meek person will keep their focus on what God is calling them to do.
A meek person is a powerful person.
A meek person will choose to stay in peace
A meek person will move forward towards the victory the Lord has for them.
A meek person sees God in everything.
A meek person is one who says "Not my will, but Your Will Lord".
A meek person knows that his past, present and future rest in God.
A meek person is patient, knowing that in the end evil will not win, but the meek will. This is because a meek person knows that in the end God wins and if God wins then the meek in Him win.... The meek will inherit the earth.....

Carol,
Thank you for such a great post. The "world" does often view Christians as meek and weak. Just as Jesus was dying on the cross He asked the Father to forgive us; Jesus knew we did not know what we were doing. The "world" will not understand our lives as we live for Christ. When we are weak HE is strong.
God bless you friend.

Carol, that is lovely. One wonders if there is a better word than meek, it is sad that it seems to have such 'feeble' undertones. Even the word humble has connotations, when we know that those two words are precious in their meaning.
I love that "A meek person sees God in everything"! I want to be that person!
Blessings - Lisa
