So today is an important day for our friends in America. This is the day that they receive their new President. Some will support the policies of the new President - some will not. However, Barack Obama is now in office.
We are called to pray for our leaders. To pray for those in authority.
Please join me in prayer for this historic event.
Father, we thank you that You are Almighty God and all things are under your control. We thank You that You are the author and perfector of our lives and at this time we lift up to you the new President of America, Barack Obama. We pray that you will guide his steps; that you will guide the decisions he has to make. We pray that you will work in his heart and that you will teach him Your ways. We pray that he will be open and active to your guidance and promptings. We pray for godly wisdom. We pray that the people around him, supporting him and advising him will also be guided by You.
And Father, we pray that you will lead us in intercession for the new President of America.
In the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Carol,
Thank God you are praying for our new president. You are right, God's Holy Word tells us to pray for our leaders. I know God will open our new president's heart and guide him. I will be praying for our country too! God bless you for such a lovely post.
Your sister in Christ,
Bren
Thanks for your prayers! I pray for Him and his family as well.
I too am thankful for your prayers! We are praying for our new President! I know as a Christian God has placed him here as part of His plan. We need to be obedient to God first, and one of the things he has called us to do is submit to those in authority. Unless of course it goes against God's law! Thanks for your encouragement and prayers! It's good to know believers across the ocean are praying for us!!!
Carol, thank you for your prayers. You all are our kinsmen(women) and closest friends.More than,Carol, you are my sister in Christ Jesus. I pray that the Lord will set his feet in the path that the Lord wants him to go regardless of a leaders' plans.
